Hi {{first_name}},

Here's what the difference looks like.

This is the thumbnail from my first YouTube video. The one that got seven views.

This is the thumbnail from the video that got me the booking last week.

I'm not a designer. I don't have fancy software or hours to spend on graphics.

Both thumbnails took about the same amount of time to create. But one got seven views and the other got a booked call.

The difference isn't the design skill. It's knowing what makes people click before you create anything.

The first thumbnail looked professional to me - clean, simple, with clear text. It seemed fine.

But "seems fine" doesn't get clicks. And I had no way to know it wouldn't work until after I'd made the entire video.

The second thumbnail went through a validation process first. I tested the concept before I made it. Confirmed it would perform before I invested the time.

That's why it worked.

This isn't about becoming a better designer. I'm still not a designer. But I now know how to create thumbnails that get clicks, and I can do it in about 10 minutes.

The validation piece is what changed. Having a way to test whether something will work before you commit the time.

Tomorrow I'll share what I'm doing with this process.

Jack
